Mack Wilds Responds To “Shots Fired” Cancelation Rumors
After last night’s finale of FOX’s “Shots Fired” a number of people worried about the show’s future. Luckily for them, one of the show’s biggest stars decided to answer a few questions about its status.
According to Tristan “Mack” Wilds, who played an embattled officer indicted for shooting a white teen, while several folks (including us) thought it was canceled, “Shots Fired” was never supposed to be more than a 10-episode program. So no, FOX didn’t pull the plug, because there was never even a plan for season two.
When a fan asked Mack if the show was canceled because it’s “too woke”…
a candid Mack responded; “We only came on board initially to do one season, one “10 hour movie”, give everybody some dopeness, and get out,” said Mack.
He also added that there’s a chance they’ll get a sequel.
Let’s pray that happens. People have been raving over Reggie Rock Bythewood and Gina Prince-Bythewood’s show, it would be nice to see it come back—maybe with Ash (Sanaa Lathan) and Preston (Stephan James) in a new city.
